Mariah May Thought WWE Tryout Invite Was a Scam — Her Journey to WWE
Mariah May is on the verge of realizing her WWE dream—but it all started with a tryout she initially thought was a scam!
In a resurfaced interview with Ten Count Media (recorded before her STARDOM run), Mariah shared how, back in 2019, she’d only had a couple of matches under her belt when WWE reached out for a UK tryout. Her first reaction? She couldn’t believe it was real.
“It was kind of surreal when they asked me. I thought it was fake. Like I immediately checked the handle, ’cause I was like, ‘I’ve had like one match!’ But obviously, I’d always wanted to go to WWE,” she said.
By the time the tryout came around, she’d had only four matches—but her dedication to training helped her navigate WWE’s notoriously tough process.
“They reached out to me. I’d had maybe two matches, and by the time of the tryout, four matches,” she explained. “But there’s so much more than just matches—there are drills, promos, fitness tests. I’d been training intensely, so that side of things was fine.”
Fast forward to 2025, and WWE fans are buzzing about her upcoming debut. With AEW recently removing her profile from their official website, her departure from the company is all but confirmed.
